Vanderbilt remains unanimous No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

LSU rises to second, Cal State Fullerton up to third, Oregon State at No. 4

 

After going 3-1 this past week, Vanderbilt stays the unanimous No. 1 in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

The Commodores started the week with a win over Belmont before taking two of three from Alabama. Vanderbilt is first in all five polls.

 

LSU has risen to No. 2 after going 3-1. The Tigers topped New Orleans before winning two of three against Ole Miss. LSU is second in all five polls.

 

Cal State Fullerton went 4-0 to climb one spot to third. The Titans defeated UCLA on Tuesday before sweeping a three-game series from UC Irvine to claim the Big West title. Cal State Fullerton is third in two polls, fourth in two polls and fifth in the other.

 

Oregon State put together a 2-1 week to rise to No. 4. The Beavers took two of three from Oregon to remain in first in the Pac-12. OSU is third in two polls, fourth in two polls and sixth in the other.

 

North Carolina went 2-2 to fall three spots to fifth. The Tar Heels downed Appalachian State before dropping two of three to Virginia. UNC is third in one poll, fifth in two polls and sixth in the other.

 

Kansas State (No. 17) and New Mexico (No. 20) enter the poll this week, while Ole Miss and Pittsburgh drop out.

 

The CBI Composite Poll contains five teams from both the ACC and SEC. There are four from the Pac-12, two from the Big 12 and single entries from the Big East, Big Ten, Big West and Mountain West.
