Vanderbilt now unanimous No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

UNC drops to second, LSU stays in third, Cal State Fullerton still No. 4

 

For the first time in the 2013 regular season, North Carolina has fallen out of the top spot as Vanderbilt is the unanimous No. 1 in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

The Commodores went 4-0 to elevate to first. Vanderbilt beat Presbyterian prior to a three-game SEC sweep at Kentucky. The Commodores are first in all five polls.

 

The Tar Heels went 3-2, taking two at home from James Madison before losing two of three at Georgia Tech in ACC play. UNC is second in three polls, third in one and fourth in the other.

 

LSU had a 2-1 week to stay in third. The Tigers won two of three at Texas A&M in their SEC set. LSU is second in two polls and third in the other three.

 

Cal State Fullerton was also 2-1 to remain in fourth. The Titans won two of three at UC Riverside in Big West action. Cal State Fullerton is fourth in two polls and fifth in the other three.

 

Oregon State put together a 4-0 week to stay in fifth. The Beavers won at Portland before sweeping a three-game Pac-12 set at Stanford. OSU had one third, two fourths, a sixth and a seventh.

 

Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Pittsburgh entered the poll, while Oklahoma, Rice and Stanford all dropped out.

 

The CBI Composite Poll contains six teams from the SEC and five from the ACC. There are four from the Pac-12, two from the Big East and single entries from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Big West.
