Team of the Week

UCLA named CBI Team of the Week


UCLA went 3-1 with a Pac-12 series win at Arizona. The Bruins have been named the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Team of the Week.


UCLA started with a 4-2 home win over No. 15 Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday. The Bruins traveled to eighth-ranked Arizona for a weekend series. The Wildcats posted a 4-3 victory on Friday before UCLA rebounded to win 15-3 on Saturday and 6-2 on Sunday to move into a tie for first with Arizona and Oregon.


Regional Teams of the Week


Northeast: UNC Wilmington put together a 4-1 week, starting with a 5-4 win over Coastal Carolina in 10 innings on Tuesday followed by a 10-4 victory at Charleston Southern on Wednesday. The first-place Seahawks entertained second-place Hofstra in a three-game CAA set, with UNCW winning 10-3 on Friday and 2-1 on Saturday before dropping the finale by 4-2 on Sunday.


Southeast: Georgia Southern went 4-1, beating Kennesaw State 3-2 on Tuesday and prevailing 7-6 at Jacksonville on Wednesday before hosting first-place Appalachian State in a Southern Conference series. The Eagles fell 5-1 on Friday before winning 13-3 on Saturday and 7-6 on Sunday.


Central: Nebraska had a 3-1 week. The Huskers beat Creighton 5-3 on Tuesday before taking two of three at Big Ten foe Ohio State. Nebraska lost 10-2 on Friday before sweeping a Sunday doubleheader, 5-4 in the opener and 17-9 in the nightcap.


West: Oregon went 4-1, starting with a pair of home wins over San Francisco. The Ducks downed the Dons 4-2 on Monday and 4-1 on Tuesday. Oregon took two of three in a Pac-12 series at No. 6 Stanford, winning 4-2 in 10 innings on Friday and 5-0 on Saturday before dropping a 4-2 decision on Sunday.


Honorable Mention


Virginia Tech went 3-1, winning at Radford before taking two of three from No. 7 Miami (Fla.).

Georgia had a 3-1 week, winning at Clemson prior to taking two of three from No. 19 Ole Miss.

Baylor put together a 5-0 week, beating ULM twice before sweeping a three-game Big 12 series at Kansas State to extend its win streak to 19.

Gonzaga had a 5-0 week, winning a pair at Washington before sweeping a three-game WCC set against Santa Clara.

Maine went 4-0, beating Colby before sweeping a three-game America East set from Hartford to stretch its win streak to 13.

Utah Valley went 5-0, winning at Utah before taking a four-game Great West series at Chicago State to extend its win streak to 15.

Wright State had a 4-1 week, beating Cincinnati and Miami (Ohio) to win the Joe Nuxhall Classic before taking two of three Horizon games from Milwaukee.

Southeastern Louisiana swept a three-game Southland set from Texas State.

Army went 5-1, winning at Siena and losing to Fairleigh Dickinson before sweeping a four-game series from Lafayette, its third straight Patriot League sweep.

Rhode Island had a 5-0 week, winning at Quinnipiac and beating Bryant before sweeping a three-game series at St. Bonaventure to move into first in the Atlantic 10.
