Arizona State Named CBI Team of the Week
 

Arizona State went 5-0 this past week, including a Pac-10 series sweep at No. 6 UCLA, and was named CollegeBaseballInsider.com Team of the Week for the second time this season.

 

ASU defeated San Francisco twice in midweek contests, 11-5 on Tuesday and 21-3 on Wednesday. In their huge series at UCLA over the weekend, the Sun Devils swept the three-game set with the Bruins by the scores of 5-1, 6-1 and 12-3.

 

Honorable Mention goes to Columbia, which went 5-1. The Lions took two from Fordham before going 3-1 against Penn to clinch the Lou Gehrig Division. Columbia will host Dartmouth this weekend in the Ivy League Championship Series. No. 10 Florida swept a three-game SEC series from No. 13 LSU. Bryant bounced back from a loss at Connecticut to sweep a four-game NEC set from Wagner. Utah Valley went 4-0 against Texas-Pan American to hang onto first in the Great West Conference and stretch its win streak to 11. Texas topped UTSA and took three from Baylor to extend its win streak to 20. Army beat Marist before taking three of four from Bucknell to claim the Patriot League regular-season crown. Auburn defeated Samford before winning two of three at No. 8 Arkansas. New Mexico State swept a four-game set from Louisiana Tech to secure first in the WAC and extend its win streak to 10. San Diego rebounded from a loss to No. 15 Cal State Fullerton to sweep a three-game set at San Francisco to stay undefeated in the WCC. James Madison won at Maryland before taking three from Delaware to move into first in the CAA. Georgia State beat Alabama State before sweeping three from George Mason to move into second in the CAA. Virginia beat No. 5 Coastal Carolina and Georgetown prior to a three-game ACC sweep at Duke to stretch its win streak to 10. Virginia Tech won at VMI before taking three from Boston College. FAU beat Bethune-Cookman before sweeping three from Arkansas State to sit in second in the Sun Belt. Michigan won two of three from Ohio State to remain in a first-place tie in the Big Ten. Binghamton bounced back from a loss to Cornell to win four at Hartford to take sole possession of first in America East. Washington split a pair with Gonzaga before sweeping a three-game Pac-10 ser from No. 20 Stanford.
