Team of the Week

Texas Named CBI Team of the Week
 

Texas put together a 5-0 week and was named CBI Team of the Week.

 

The Longhorns beat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi twice before sweeping a three-game Big 12 series from No. 9 Oklahoma. Texas is now 29-8 overall and 12-6 in conference play, good for first place in the Big 12.

 

Honorable mention goes to Missouri State, which also went 5-0. The Bears won a pair at Arkansas State before sweeping a three-game MVC set from defending champ Wichita State. North Carolina bounced back from a loss to High Point to defeat Winthrop and sweep a three-game ACC series from No. 11 Miami (Fla.). Tennessee beat Belmont and Middle Tennessee before taking two of three at No. 1 LSU. Texas A&M won at No. 2 Rice before winning three against Nebraska. Ole Miss defeated Mississippi State before taking two of three at No. 23 Florida. Oral Roberts beat UALR before sweeping a four-game Summit series against second-place Centenary to stretch its win streak to nine. Louisiana Tech topped Northwestern State before sweeping a four-game WAC set from defending national champion Fresno State. Maine won six America East games, taking two at Hartford before sweeping four from UMBC. Liberty rebounded from a loss to Old Dominion to sweep a three-game Big South series from Winthrop to secure first place. Manhattan defeated Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickinson before sweeping a three-game MAAC series with Fairfield. Ohio State bounced back from a loss to Kent State to sweep a three-game Big Ten series at Purdue to move into first place. Kent State beat Youngstown State and won at OSU before taking two of three from Bowling Green. Georgia Tech won at Georgia and at Georgia State before taking three at Wake Forest. Texas State beat Houston Baptist and Prairie View A&M before winning two at Northwestern State to extend its win streak to eight and stay in first in the Southland. Sam Houston State defeated Houston and Texas Southern before winning three at Nicholls State to stretch its win streak to seven. UTA split a pair with No. 13 Baylor before winning three at Central Arkansas. Alabama capped a 5-1 week with a three-game SEC sweep at Vanderbilt. Dartmouth defeated Vermont and Holy Cross before winning three of four at Yale. UC Irvine beat Loyola Marymount and lost at San Diego before sweeping a three-game Big West series at UC Riverside. Tulsa defeated Southeastern Louisiana before taking two of three from No. 22 East Carolina. Florida Gulf Coast won at UCF before sweeping a three-game A-Sun set from Lipscomb.
