Team of the Week

Kansas Named CBI Team of the Week
 

After posting a 5-0 week, including a three-game Big 12 sweep of No. 18 Oklahoma State, Kansas is the CBI Team of the Week.

 

The Jayhawks started with a pair of victories at Iowa, a 5-4 win on Tuesday and a 9-3 win on Wednesday. Kansas then defeated OSU three times over the weekend, winning 8-1 on Friday, 13-6 on Saturday and 4-3 in 10 innings on Sunday. The Jayhawks are now 23-12 overall and 7-5 in the Big 12, in a tie for fourth place.

 

Honorable mention goes to Rice, which defeated Sam Houston State and Lamar before taking two of three at No. 16 East Carolina to move into a first-place tie in C-USA with the Pirates. Kent State topped Marshall before winning three at Toledo, the first-place team in the MAC West. Texas beat No. 22 TCU before sweeping a three-game set at Nebraska. Coastal Carolina won at Elon and at Wake Forest before taking three from Radford to extend its win streak to 10. Texas State defeated Houston Baptist before sweeping three from Southeastern Louisiana to secure first place in the Southland. Virginia Tech defeated James Madison before winning three at Maryland for its first ACC sweep since joining the conference prior to the 2005 season. UC Irvine bounced back from a loss at UCLA to sweep a three-game Big West series with Long Beach State. Florida State defeated UNF before taking two of three from No. 2 North Carolina. Vanderbilt rebounded from a loss at Middle Tennessee to take two from No. 9 Arkansas. New Mexico won three 10-inning Mountain West games at Utah. ULM swept a three-game set from Louisiana-Lafayette. Western Kentucky won at Kentucky before taking three from New Orleans. Kansas State took two of three from Texas A&M. San Jose State won four WAC contests against Louisiana Tech. Milwaukee enjoyed a 5-0 week with two wins over Chicago State and a three-game sweep of Wright State. First-place Illinois-Chicago swept a three-game Horizon series at Butler. Jacksonville defeated USF before sweeping a three-game A-Sun set at ETSU. USF rebounded from a loss to Jacksonville to sweep a three-game set at Georgetown to move into a tie for first in the Big East. Louisville beat Indiana before taking three from Pittsburgh. Mississippi Valley State topped Delta State before sweeping a three-game SWAC series from Alabama State. Elon rebounded from a loss to Coastal Carolina to sweep a three-game Southern Conference series from College of Charleston. Georgia split a doubleheader with Winthrop before winning three at Kentucky. Dartmouth beat St. Anselm before remaining in first in the Ivy League by winning three of four against Brown. Charlotte beat North Carolina A&T before sweeping three against George Washington. Southern Utah swept a four-game Summit series at IPFW. Centenary swept a three-game Summit set at Western Illinois.
