Florida is CBI Louisville Slugger Team of the Week

 

Florida registered a 4-0 week against teams in the Top 10 in the CBI Composite Poll and has been named the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Louisville Slugger Team of the Week for games played March 24-30.

 

The Gators began the week with a 4-1 victory over No. 1 Florida State in Jacksonville. Florida then swept a three-game SEC set from No. 6 LSU. Following a Friday rainout, the Gators took two on Saturday (2-1 & 6-2) before posting an 11-7 win on Sunday. Florida is tied for first in the SEC Eastern Division.

 

Northeast: Canisius put together a 3-0 week, edging Buffalo before taking two MAAC contests from Manhattan. Following their win over the Jaspers on Monday, the Golden Griffins extended their win streak to eight.

 

Southeast: Alabama enjoyed a 4-0, topping Troy in Pensacola before sweeping a three-game SEC set from No. 13 Ole Miss to move into a tie for first in the Western Division.

 

Central: Dallas Baptist went 4-0 on the road, winning at Stephen F. Austin before sweeping a three-game set at Bradley to kick off Missouri Valley Conference play.

 

West: Washington had a 4-0 week, beating Gonzaga before sweeping a three-game series at USC to take sole possession of first place in the Pac-12 and extend its win streak to 10.

 

Honorable Mention

 

South Carolina went 5-0, defeating College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina before taking three from Tennessee to tie for first in the SEC Eastern Division.

Davidson had a 3-1 week, downing Duke before taking two of three from Georgia Southern to sit near the top of the Southern Conference.

Sacramento State put together a 4-0 week, topping Air Force before sweeping a three-game set at New Mexico State to stretch its win streak to eight.

Miami (Fla.) enjoyed a 4-0 week, defeating FGCU before sweeping a three-game ACC series from NC State.

Arizona State had a 3-1 week, downing Arizona before taking two of three at No. 18 UCLA.

Stanford went 2-1 against ninth-ranked Oregon.

Middle Tennessee put together a 3-1 week, getting by Lipscomb before taking two of three from Rice in C-USA play.

Duke had a 3-1 week, rebounding from a loss at Davidson to sweep a three-game ACC set from North Carolina.

Hawaii traveled to the mainland and took two of three at No. 17 UC Santa Barbara to begin Big West play.

Liberty went 3-0 with three shutouts at Presbyterian to extend its win streak to seven.
