Team of the Week

Stetson named CBI Team of the Week

Stetson, picked to finish fifth the Atlantic Sun by the head coaches, swept a three-game series from Georgia of the SEC. The Hatters get a tip of our cap as the initial 2011 CollegeBaseballInsider.com Team of the Week.

Stetson began the weekend with a 6-3 win over the Bulldogs on Friday, as Lindsey Caughel (right) started on the mound. The Hatters followed that with a 7-2 triumph on Saturday and completed the sweep with an 8-4 decision on Sunday.

Regional Teams of the Week

Northeast: Louisville went 3-0 in the Big East-Big Ten Challenge, with victories over Michigan, Ohio State and Minnesota. The Cardinals shut out the Buckeyes and Golden Gophers.

Southeast: North Carolina went to the West Coast and picked up wins over Cal Poly, at No. 9 Cal State Fullerton, against Missouri and at USC.

Central: Michigan State was the only Big Ten team to go undefeated in the Big East-Big Ten Challenge. The Spartans earned wins over Notre Dame, Seton Hall and Cincinnati.

West: Stanford hit the road and won two of three at No. 18 Rice. The No. 13 Cardinal won on Friday, fell on Saturday and rebounded for the series clincher on Sunday.
