Johnathan Taylor of Georgia continues his
rehabilitation at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. He suffered a
broken neck on a collision in the outfield while diving for a
ball. Taylor’s spinal cord was bruised but not severed. He is
paralyzed from the waist down, but continues to gain strength in
his upper body.

Dr. Jack Glasser, former Western Kentucky
catcher, will be the first Hilltopper to have his jersey
retired. A ceremony will be held on April 19 prior to the game
against Kentucky at 6 p.m. at Bowling Green Ballpark. Glasser
was a four-year starter behind the plate and All-OVC in 1971,
1972 and 1973. He was a team captain as a junior and senior.
Glasser batted .326 during his career including .364 in 1973.
Glasser was an Academic All-American and graduated Cum Laude in
biology in 1973.
South Carolina has added Liberty to its
non-conference schedule. The teams will meet on April 26 at 1
p.m. at Carolina Stadium. Liberty head coach Jim Toman is a
former Gamecock assistant.

ULM held a free clinic for the Benoit Community
Center Youth Baseball League. Warhawk head coach Jeff
Schexnaider as well as players and members of the staff assisted
with the clinic on Monday, April 11.
