Back on the Road

After what felt like only a day of being back in the Bronx, the Fordham Rams and I boarded the bus back down to North Carolina yesterday. Unfortunately, last weekend, we got swept by Western Carolina University. Although we didn’t play as well as we should have, we could do nothing more than tip our caps to that program – those guys could flat out hit. To our credit, we battled back from large deficits in two of the games, but still couldn’t come out on top.

This weekend will be a different story altogether. The first weekend jitters are out of our system, and we had a great week of practice. Regardless of the outcome of last weekend’s series, there were definitely positives that we took out of the games. Hopefully we can continue to do those things well and also improve on the things we did not do as well when we take the field against the Campbell University Camels this weekend in Buies Creek, N.C.

Our first game this weekend has been pushed back due to some unfavorable weather, and the skies outside are dark as I sit waiting to learn when we are going to get our series started. Whether the sun comes out or it continues to rain, we Rams will be ready to take on the Camels for a spirited three-game series. 75 degrees and raining feels a lot better than whatever it may be in the Bronx on a Saturday in February. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
