Maryland's Rupp Resigns

Terry Rupp, who compiled a record of 227-271 in nine seasons, has resigned as Maryland's head baseball coach.

Although the Terrapins won the most ACC games in a season (10) since 1972, they have not qualified for the conference tournament since the league expanded to 12 teams in 2006.

Maryland went 27-27 in 2009, and Rupp guided the team to winning seasons in 2002 and 2008. Four Terps coached by Rupp have gone onto the major leagues.
