Restaino out at Fordham

Fordham head coach Nick Restaino has stepped down to pursue other opportunities.

The Rams were 31-23-1 this past season, the seventh campaign for Restaino. Fordham was 12-11-1 in the Atlantic 10 and did not qualify for the A-10 championship.

A 1993 graduate of Fordham, Restaino was the 2005 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in a season in which he served as interim head coach. The Rams were 34-21 overall and 17-7 in league play. He transitioned from interim to head coach in June of 2005.

Restaino was associate head coach for seven seasons at Fordham. Prior to that, he was an assistant at Lehman College and Manhattan.

Fordham will begin a national search for Restaino’s replacement.
