2013 Coaching Changes

Hayden Hired to Head Redhawks

Danny Hayden has been named head coach at Miami (Ohio).

Hayden spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Xavier. He worked with the hitters and all aspects of the offense for the Musketeers. Hayden helped Ben Thomas become the 2011 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year.

In 2004, Hayden played for the Redhawks as a freshman. He spent two seasons on the Miami staff, serving as director of baseball operations in 2009 and volunteer assistant in 2010.

Following his rookie campaign at Miami, Hayden played his final three seasons at Xavier. He was captain of the 2008 squad that won the Atlantic 10 regular-season crown. Hayden was drafted in the 47th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox.

A native of Cincinnati, Hayden replaces Dan Simonds, who resigned to join the staff at Indiana.
