2013 Coaching Changes

 

McCullough Promoted to Head Coach at Longwood

 

Assistant coach Brian McCullough has been promoted to head coach at Longwood.

 

McCullough, 28, has been an assistant at his alma mater the past four years. He was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the Lancers.

 

A four-year starting pitcher at Longwood from 2004-07, McCullough posted a record of 20-14 with four saves and a 3.56 ERA. He fanned 258 in 329 innings, both program records. McCullough was Division I Independent Pitcher of the Year in 2007, going 6-4 with a 2.57 ERA. He struck out 73 in 105 innings.

 

A native of Virginia Beach, McCullough pitched professionally in the independent Frontier, Northern and Atlantic Leagues from 2007-11.

 

McCullough replaces Buddy Bolding, who had a record of 953-544-4 in 35 years as head coach at Longwood.
