Knutson Out at Washington

After 17 seasons, Washington will not retain Ken Knutson as head coach, effective June 30.

Knutson had a record of 584-399-2 with the Huskies, the most wins in school history. He has a record of 240-189 in Pac-10 contests. Knutson led Washington to a pair of Pac-10 titles, four division titles and six NCAA Tournament appearances.

A 1981 graduate of Washington, Knutson was only the second head coach for the Huskies since 1977. He succeeded Bob MacDonald in 1992.

Knutson coach 55 first team all-Pac-10 selections and had 76 players taken in the Major League draft, including 2008 National League Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum.
