Horton Suspended Three Games

Oregon head coach George Horton has been suspended for three games after being ejected in the fifth inning of Sunday’s game against Washington.

The umpire’s report said Horton’s cap touched the umpire while Horton was questioning a call. Ejection for physical contact with an umpire has an automatic three-game suspension to be served immediately.

Horton will miss home games against Sacramento State on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as the Pac-10 series opener in Eugene with Oregon State on Friday.

The Ducks are 9-11 in their first year back after a 28-year absence. Oregon begins conference play this weekend against the Beavers.
