Hartford Director of Athletics Patricia Meiser announced that head coach Jeff Calcaterra was fired, effective immediately.

Calcaterra was in his seventh season with the Hawks. He compiled a record of 79-236-1.

Jerry Shank will become interim head coach and Inaki Ormaechea will remain as assistant coach.

The University will begin a nationwide search for a new head coach.

The Hawks are 3-34-1 overall this season and 1-11 in America East.
