Bando Resigns at High Point

High Point Athletic Director Craig Keilitz announced on Tuesday that Sal Bando, Jr., resigned as baseball coach.

Bando posted a record of 144-243 in seven seasons with the Panthers, including a 57-94 mark in the Big South. He was named Big South Coach of the Year in 2006, when High Point won 27 games, a high mark for the program in Division I. Bando had four players taken in the Major League draft and had one All-American, two Freshman All-Americans, nine All-Conference selections, a Big South co-MVP and a Big South Freshman of the Year.

A national search for a new coach has begun.
