Florida remains No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

Stanford up to second, South Carolina falls to third, Rice rises to fourth

 

After posting five victories this past week without a loss, Florida remains No. 1 in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

The Gators defeated Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday and UCF on Wednesday before sweeping a three-game set from William and Mary over the weekend in Gainesville. Florida is first in three polls and second in the other.

 

Stanford has climbed one spot to second. The Cardinal won at Pacific on Tuesday before sweeping a three-game series from nationally-ranked Texas. Stanford is first in one poll, second in two and third in the other.

 

South Carolina fell one place to No. 3. The Gamecocks took three games from Elon over the weekend. South Carolina is second in one poll and third in the other three.

 

Rice rose two spots to fourth. The Owls took a pair of midweek games from New Mexico State before sweeping three from Dallas Baptist over the weekend. Rice is fourth in three polls and fifth in the other.

 

Texas A&M drops one place to No. 5. The Aggies defeated Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday before taking two of three from Holy Cross. Texas A&M is fifth in three polls and sixth in the other.

 

Cal State Fullerton was the biggest climber, going from No. 20 to No. 15 after taking two of three from TCU.

 

The Horned Frogs fell out of the poll along with Oregon State and Vanderbilt. Louisville, Ole Miss and Oregon make their first appearance in the poll.

 

This week's poll includes six SEC teams and five from the ACC. There are three from both the Big 12 and Pac-12 and single entries from the Big East, Big West and Conference USA.
