UC Irvine stays No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

LSU stays second, ASU still third, CSF is fourth, Texas sits fifth

 

UC Irvine enjoyed another 3-1 week and kept the top spot in the final regular-season CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

The Anteaters (43-13) defeated UCLA and won two of three at UC Santa Barbara to win the Big West by five games. UCI is first in all four national polls.

 

LSU (46-16) was the top seed and won the SEC Tournament. The Tigers are No. 2 in all four national polls.

 

Arizona State (44-12) won at Arizona and took two of three against UCLA to finish on top of the Pac-10 standings. The Sun Devils are third in the three polls.

 

Cal State Fullerton (42-14) defeated Pepperdine and swept a three-game set from Long Beach State to finished second to UCI in the Big West. The Titans are fourth in three polls and fifth in one.

 

Texas (41-13-1) won the Big 12 title. The Longhorns are fourth in one poll and fifth in the other three polls.

 

Rice (39-15) won the Conference USA Tournament and jumped from 11th to sixth. North Carolina (42-16) went 1-2 in the ACC Tournament and fell from fourth to seventh. Virginia (43-12-1) won the ACC tourney and rose six spots to ninth.

 

Missouri (34-24) reached the Big 12 championship game and returned to the poll at No. 22. Georgia (37-22) went 2-2 in the SEC Tournament and resurfaced at No. 25.
