UC Irvine retains top spot in CBI Composite Poll

LSU is second, ASU climbs to third, UNC falls to fourth, CSF sits in fifth

 

After putting together a 3-0 week and stretching its win streak to seven, UC Irvine held onto the top spot in the latest CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

 

The Anteaters (37-11) swept a three-game Big West series at Pacific for their 12th straight conference win, raising their Big West mark to 17-1. UCI is first in all four national polls.

 

LSU (38-14) took two of three in a SEC series with No. 11 Florida to rise one spot to second. The Tigers are No. 2 in three of the four national polls.

 

Arizona State (38-11) beat San Diego twice and swept a three-game set from Winthrop to climb two places to No. 3. The Sun Devils are second in one national poll and third in the other three.

 

North Carolina (38-13) defeated Elon and Longwood before dropping two of three at NC State to fall two spots to fourth.

 

Cal State Fullerton (36-13) beat Arizona twice before taking two of three at No. 17 Cal Poly to bump up one spot to No. 5.

 

Alabama (35-15) swept a three-game SEC series from No. 12 Arkansas to jump 10 places to No. 13. The Razorbacks dropped eight to No. 20. Clemson took two of three from UNC Wilmington to rise six spots to No. 15.

 

Minnesota (33-14) enters the poll at No. 24 and Elon (36-14) checks in at No. 25.
