Miami is new No. 1 in CBI Composite Poll

 

Florida State rises to No. 2; Arizona State drops to No. 3; UNC stays at No. 4

 

By sitting on top of three of the four national polls, Miami (Fla.) had risen to No. 1 in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Composite Poll.

The Hurricanes went 5-0 this past week to raise their record to 26-2. Miami defeated Florida Atlantic and Florida International before sweeping a three-game ACC series from Clemson.

Florida State (28-3) beat Florida and Jacksonville before taking three ACC contests from Virginia to climb one spot to No. 2. Arizona State (28-3) took two from Wofford before dropping two of three Pac-10 games at Stanford to fall to No. 3. North Carolina (25-6) defeated UNC Greensboro and Appalachian State before winning two of three ACC contests against Georgia Tech to hold at No. 4. Wichita State (24-4) won at Kansas and beat Oral Roberts before taking two of three Missouri Valley Conference games from Missouri State to climb four places to No. 5.

Nebraska (24-2-1) enjoyed a 3-0 week to rise five spots to No. 7. Rice (23-10) went 4-1 and elevated seven places to No. 9.

 

Stanford (15-9), Cal State Fullerton (18-10), Georgia (20-10) and San Diego (22-11) climb back into the poll.
