Preston Palmeiro had a leadoff double in the bottom of the 12th and scored the game-winner on an error as NC State edged Miami to earn a spot in Sunday's championship game. Logan Ratledge had two hits and two RBI, while Ryne Willard homered for the Wolfpack (33-20). Tommy DeJuneas (3-3, 3 IP, H, BB, 6 K) earned the victory. George Iskenderian drove in two for the Hurricanes (43-14).

 

Cavan Biggio and Kyle Fiala both had two hits and two RBI as Notre Dame defeated Virginia. Ryan Smoyer (9-0, 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 2 K) earned the victory, while Brandon Bielak (3 IP, 2 H) recorded his first save for the Irish (36-20). Matt Thaiss knocked in a pair for the Cavaliers (34-21).

 

Skye Bolt homered and drove in four as North Carolina downed Clemson. Tyler Ramirez had two hits and two runs for the Tar Heels (34-24). Reed Rohlman had three hits and a run for the Tigers (32-27).

Zander Wiel and Jason Delay both went 3 for 5 with two doubles and four RBI as Vanderbilt whipped Alabama. The Commodores (41-18) added to a 2-1 lead with eight in the fourth. Philip Pfeifer (4-4, 7 IP, 4 H, R, BB, 9 K) recorded the victory. Mikey White went 1 for 1 with a walk and an RBI for the Crimson Tide (32-28).

 

A.J. Puk fanned 11 in seven scoreless innings as Florida blanked Arkansas. Puk (8-3) allowed three hits and three walks. Harrison Bader drove in two for the Gators (42-16). Tyler Spoon, Brett McAfee and Michael Bernal each had a hit for the Razorbacks (35-22).

Josh Reavis had a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to break a 2-2 deadlock as Radford moved to the championship game. Reavis finished with two hits and two runs for the Highlanders (42-14). Daniel Bridgeman (6-2, 2.2 IP, 2 H, BB, 2 K) earned the win, while Ryan Meisinger gave up two hits and struck out three in the ninth to record his 15th save. Brad Kaczka had two hits and a run for the Eagles (40-19).

 

Andrew Beckwith hurled eight solid innings as Coastal Carolina topped High Point to advance to the championship contest. Beckwith (5-4) allowed seven hits and two runs with two walks and three strikeouts. Josh Crump  had two hits and two RBI, while Tyler Chadwick went 2 for 3 with two runs for the Chanticleers (38-18). Chris Clare had two doubles and two RBI for the Panthers (29-26).

Casey Baker had an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to snap a 3-3 tie as Stony Brook edged UMBC to reach the championship game. Cole Peragine had a two-run single in a three-run second for the Seawolves (33-14-1). Chad Lee (5-1, 2 IP, 2 H) picked up the win, while Cameron Stone (1.2 IP, 2 K) retired the final five batters to record his sixth save. Mitchell Carroll drove in a pair for the Retrievers (33-19).

 

In the earlier game, Ben Bengtson had a two-run single to cap a four-run fourth as Hartford eliminated Maine. Bengtson had three hits and three RBI, while David MacKinnon went 3 for 3 with three runs and two RBI for the Hawks (23-20). Luke Morrill went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Black Bears (24-28).

Dylan Toscano allowed one run over eight innings as Memphis eliminated USF to advance to the bracket finals. Toscano (9-2) scattered seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Nolan Blackwood (1 IP, H, K) notched his 14th save. Nate Rupiper had three hits, while Tucker Tubbs went deep for the Tigers (37-20). Kevin Merrell had two hits and a run for the Bulls (33-24-1).

 

Joe Deroche-Duffin had a two-run homer to cap a five-run eighth as Connecticut rallied to eliminate Tulane. Siena had a two-run triple and scored earlier in the eighth for the Huskies (35-24). Anthony Kay pitched a hitless ninth with one walk and one strikeout to earn his first save. Hunter Hope had three hits, two doubles and two RBI for the Green Wave (34-23).

Walker Haymaker had three hits and four RBI as VCU topped Rhode Island to advance to the championship game. VCU (36-22) erased a 2-0 deficit with three in the fourth and added four in the sixth. Sean Thompson (5-3, 5.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 3 K) earned the victory, while Daniel Concepcion (3 IP, 3 H, 2 K) recorded his 12th save. Chris Hess (2 for 4) and Ryan Olml both homered for URI (24-24-1).

 

In the day's final game, Lee Miller had a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth as Davidson (28-21) eliminated George Washington (32-22).

 

David Daniels had a two-run double to cap a five-run second as Davidson sent home Saint Louis (35-21).

 

Brandon Chapman had a two-run single in the bottom of the third to erase a 2-1 deficit as George Washington eliminated Richmond. The Colonials put the game away with four in the sixth. Michael Morman and Matt Dacey both had three hits for the Spiders (28-25).

Brady Puckett tossed a five-hitter as Lipscomb advanced to the championship game by edging North Florida. Puckett (7-2) gave up one walk and one run with two strikeouts. He faced just four over the minimun and coaxed 15 groundball outs. Grant Massey and Tyson Ashcraft both had two hits and one run for the Bisons (38-18). Keith Skinner went 2 for 3 for the Ospreys (44-15).

 

Brady Anderson had an RBI double in the top of the 10th as FGCU eliminated Stetson. Tyler Selesky had two hits and two runs for the Eagles (30-25-1). Jordan Desguin (6-1, 2.2 IP, H, 3 K) earned the victory. Tyler Bocock had two hits, including a homer, for the Hatters (29-30).

 

Big East (TD Ameritrade Park, Omaha, Neb.)

Ryan McCormick hurled a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts as St. John's topped Creighton to advance to the Big East title game. McCormick (10-1) allowed one walk and one run. Zach Lauricella had two hits and three RBI, while Alex Caruso went 4 for 5 with three runs for the Red Storm (38-14). Harrison Crawford went 1 for 3 with a run for the Bluejays (31-18).

 

Anthony Elia went the distance with nine strikeouts as Seton Hall eliminated Georgetown. Elia (4-2) gave up four hits and a run. Sal Annunziata homered and scored twice for the Pirates (25-24). Ryan Busch (2 for 4) went deep for the Hoyas (25-28).

Andy Austin had an RBI single in the top of the 10th as UNCW edged College of Charleston to advance to the championship game. The Seahawks (38-16) scored twice in the eighth to knot the score at 3-3. Kennard McDowell went 3 for 5 with one RBI for UNCW. Jordan Ramsey (8-2, 3.2 IP, H, UE, BB, 3 K) earned the victory. Alex Pastorius had a two-run single to cap a three-run seventh for the Cougars (42-12).

 

Zach Lopes drove in three as Delaware eliminated Northeastern. Lopes had a two-run double and scored in the third before drawing a bases-loaded walk an inning later. Chad Martin (3-5, 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 3 K) earned the win, while Nick Spadafino (4 IP, 3 H, BB, 2 K) recorded the save for the Blue Hens (26-23). Rob Fonseca (2 for 5) homered for the Huskies (25-30).

 

Colman Vila allowed one hit and one run in 7.1 innings as Delaware eliminated Elon. Vila (2-1) walked four and fanned three in recording the victory. Taylor Mahoney (1.2 IP, H, 2 BB) registered his third save. Brock Niggebrugge went 2 for 2 with a walk and two runs for the Blue Hens. Ryan Cooper went 1 for 2 with two walks and one RBI for the Phoenix (25-29).

Jeff Schalk belted a two-run homer with one away in the bottom of the ninth as UAB rallied past Florida Atlantic. Dylan Munger (1-1, 2 IP, 2 H, R, 3 BB) won in relief of Alex Luna (7 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 7 K). Griffin Gum had two hits and a run for the Blazers (32-24). CJ Chatham went deep in the eighth for the Owls.

 

Austin Bryant had an RBI single in the top of the ninth to snap a 4-4 tie at Middle Tennessee eliminated UTSA (33-25). Garrett Ring (2-2, 4 IP, 2 H, BB, 2 K) earned the win in relief for the Blue Raiders (32-26).

 

CJ Chatham drove in a pair as Florida Atlantic (40-16) sent home Southern Miss (36-18-1).

 

Horizon (Oil City Stadium, Whiting, Ind.)

#2 Wright State 8, #1 UIC 5

Ryan Fucci blasted a three-run homer in the ninth inning as Wright State scored six times over the final three innings to beat UIC in the winners’ bracket final. The Flames built a 5-2 lead, but the Raiders scored two in the seventh to cut the deficit to one and rallied for four runs in the ninth. Mark Fowler went 4 for 5 with a run for the Raiders (40-14). Jeff Boehm had two hits and three RBI for UIC (29-21-1). Wright State will face Milwaukee in the championship round as the Raiders are looking for their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2011.

 

Daulton Varsho plated the go-ahead run with a suicide squeeze, and Ryan McShane added another run on a safety squeeze as Milwaukee scored twice in the top of the 12th inning to eliminate UIC. Austin Schulfer allowed two earned runs in eight-plus innings for the Panthers (38-19) but didn’t factor in the decision. Rob Calabrese drove in a run in the bottom of the 12th, but Cody Peterson (3-2) was able to escape further damage to put Milwaukee in the championship round, where it will have to beat Wright State twice to advance to the NCAA Tourney.

 

Metro Atlantic (Dutchess Stadium, Fishkill, N.Y.)

Dan Swain singled in the game-winning run in the top of the 10th inning as Siena rallied for a win over Quinnipiac after squandering a 5-1 lead in the ninth. The Bobcats loaded the bases on three straight singles and got to 5-2 on a fielder’s choice. After a catcher’s interference and three walks, the game was tied, and the Saints escaped the inning after a failed suicide squeeze. Swain finished 4 for 5 with a run and the game-winning RBI, and Brian Fay went 4 for 5 with a triple and two RBI for Siena, which is in the championship round for the third straight year.

 

Canisius advanced to the championship round by rallying to beat Rider on Brett Siddall’s grand slam in the top of the eighth inning and routing Quinnipiac. Rider scored five runs in the first four innings as Nick Richter led the way with two hits and three RBI. Trailing 5-1 entering the seventh, the Griffs scored three times in seventh and went on top on Siddall’s grand slam. Siddall finished 3 for 5 with five RBI, and Connor Panas had three hits and two runs. In the second game, Panas went 3 for 5 with four runs and four RBI for the Griffs.

 

Mid-American (All Pro Freight Stadium, Avon, Ohio)

#6 Bowling Green 5, #7 Western Michigan 3 (WMU eliminated)

Andrew Lacinak tossed a three-hitter as Bowling Green sent home Western Michigan. Lacinak (3-6) allowed three unearned runs with no walks and eight strikeouts. Greg Basalyga homered for the Falcons (25-28). Nick Vogelmeier went 2 for 3 with one RBI for the Broncos (22-30).

 

Matt Rembielak singled and scored on an error in the bottom of the ninth as Akron eliminated Toledo. Jon Pusateri (4-5) went the distance with four hits, one run, one walk and 12 strikeouts to record the victory for the Zips (27-29). John Martillotta went 1 for 3 with a walk and a run for the Rockets (25-33).

 

Missouri Valley (Eck Stadium, Wichita, Kan.)

Missouri State and Bradley will square off for the MVC Tournament title Saturday night after the Bears eliminated Wichita State and the Braves eliminated Dallas Baptist. Eric Cheray went 3 for 3 with two RBI and Tate Matheny added three hits, three runs and an RBI in the Bears’ win over the Shockers. Bryan Young tossed the final two innings for his 13th save for Missouri State, looking to clinch a national seed spot in the NCAA Tournament. Ryan Tinkham had two hits and two RBI for the Shockers. In the Braves’ win over the Patriots, Cameron Roegner tossed a career-best eight innings with one run on five hits. Matt Dennis tossed the final inning for his 12th save as Bradley has advanced to the championship game for the first time since 1996. Chris Godinez went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI for Bradley. DBU (43-13) likely watched its chances at a national seed evaporate, but the Patriots likely will host a Regional in the NCAA Tournament.

 

Earlier, Daniel Salters had two hits, including a homer, and drove in four, and Trooper Reynolds had three hits and three RBI as Dallas Baptist eliminated Indiana State.

 

And Ryan Tinkham homered and drove in four and Bob Arens went 4 for 5 with a homer, three runs and two RBI as Wichita State routed Southern Illinois

Selby Zavala went 2 for 5 with two homers and three RBI as San Diego State eliminated Nevada, leaving the Wolf Pack to worry about their NCAA at-large fate. Danny Sheehan, Andrew Brown and Justin Wylie also homered for the Aztecs (37-21) – Wylie’s two-run shot broke a 6-6 tie in the eighth. Austin Byler went 3 for 4 with a homer, three runs and two RBI for Nevada (41-15).

 

Earlier, Selby Zavala and Danny Sheehan homered, and Mark Seyler allowed three hits in seven scoreless innings as San Diego State eliminated Air Force. Spencer Thornton went 3 for 3 with an RBI, and Justin Wylie added three hits for SDSU.

 

Northeast (Dodd Stadium, Norwich, Conn.)

Jason Foley allowed two hits and struck out six in dominating Fairleigh Dickinson as Sacred Heart advanced to the championship round for the seventh straight year. Zack Short went 4 for 5 with a pair of two-run homers and drove in five for the Pioneers, who have allowed one run in two games. Jesus Medina had three hits and two runs for Sacred Heart, which awaits the winner of Bryant and FDU.

 

Cole Fabio went 3 for 4 with two RBI, and James Karinchak tossed six solid innings as Bryant eliminated Wagner. Nick Dini, the NEC Player of the Year, homered late for Wagner.

 

Ohio Valley (The Ballpark, Jackson, Tenn.)

Alex Stephens went 3 for 5 with three RBI and two runs as Morehead State beat Belmont in the winners’ bracket final to move into the championship round, where the Eagles will try to win their first OVC title since 1993. Chris Robinson added three hits, including two doubles, and two runs, and Craig Pearcy tossed the first complete game of his career for Morehead State (37-20).

 

Top-seeded Southeast Missouri fought off elimination twice, getting a grand slam and six RBI from Branden Boggetto in a win over Jacksonville State and three more RBI from Boggetto in a win over Tennessee Tech. On the day Boggetto went 8 for 11 with nine RBI and five runs.

 

Southern (Riley Park, Charleston, S.C.)

Frankie Navarrete scored the tying run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth and Brandon Powell drew a bases-loaded walk later in the frame to plate the game-winner as Samford nipped Wofford. Austin Edens homered for the Bulldogs (31-24). Derek Hirsch had two hits and two RBI for the Terriers.

 

Danny Edgeworth had a two-run single to highlight a five-run second as Mercer hammered VMI. The Bears (33-21) led 8-1 after their first two at-bats. Edgeworth went 4 for 6 with three runs and three RBI, while Charlie Madden added four hits and four RBI for Mercer. Kyle Lewis belted a grand slam in the seventh for the Bears. David Geary had two hits and three RBI for the Keydets.

 

Adam Scott (8-4) tossed a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as Wofford (38-21) eliminates Furman (25-33).

 

Drew Ellis had a two-run homer to spark a four-run sixth as The Citadel (28-29) sent home VMI (21-30).

Ross Kennell tossed a complete-game shutout with four hits as Houston Baptist, playing in its first Southland Conference tourney, reached the championship round by eliminating Central Arkansas. Curtis Jones singled in Thomas Clay in the top of the sixth inning for the game’s only run. Tyler Gray allowed six hits and just the one earned run in a complete-game loss for UCA.

 

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is still alive after Tyler Ware delivered a game-winning single in the bottom of the 10th inning to eliminate top-seeded Southeastern Louisiana. The Islanders later eliminated Sam Houston State in another close game. Ware finished with four RBI, and Zacaris Hardy, who scored the game-winner, scored three times in the win over the Lions, who at 42-17 must sweat it out on Selection Monday. Carson Crites went 3 for 5 with two runs for SELA. Against Sam Houston State, Casey Thomas’s single broke a 3-3 tie as the Islanders scored four times in the eighth for the win. Zacarias Hardy went 3 for 5 with three RBI for TAMCC. Spence Rahm went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI for the Bearkats (29-27).

 

Summit (Sioux Falls Stadium, Sioux Falls, S.D.)

Shannon Baker had a two-run homer and finished with three RBI as IPFW reached its first championship game by slipping past South Dakota State. Greg Kaiser had two hits, including a homer, three runs and an RBI as the Mastodons (28-25) scored four times in the fifth inning to take control. Newt Johnson had a three-run double to make it a 6-5 game in the ninth inning, but Evan Miller, who threw 100 pitches in a loss two days ago, came on for his first relief appearance of the year and got a strikeout to end the game. IPFW will need two wins over Oral Roberts to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

 

Sun Belt (Riddle-Pace Field, Troy, Ala.)

Tanner Ring had three hits and three RBI as Arkansas State sent home Georgia State. Zach George went 3 for 4 with a homer for the Red Wolves (27-29). Matt Rose had a two-run homer for the Panthers (30-27).

 

Evan Guillory and Chris Charpentier combined on a five-hitter as UL Lafayette eliminated UT Arlington. Guillory (4-0) allowed five hits and a run in six innings with one walk and seven strikeouts. Charpentier worked three hitless innings with three walks and six strikeouts for his first save. Dylan Butler drove in two, while Kyle Clement went 3 for 5 with two runs and one RBI for the Ragin' Cajuns (36-21). Matt McLean went 1 for 4 with a run for the Mavericks (24-32).

Trevor Megill and Cory Abbott combined on a four-hitter as Loyola Marymount defeated Pepperdine to advance to the championship game. Megill (5-4, 7 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 6 K) earned the victory, while Abbott allowed one hit and struck out three in two innings for his first save. Sean Watkins (2 for 4, 2 R) homered for the Lions (33-20-1). Brad Anderson drove in two for the Waves.

 

Hutton Moyer had a three-run homer and Brad Anderson followed with a solo shot in the third as Pepperdine eliminated San Diego. Ryan Wilson (7-3, 8 IP, 7 H, 2 R, BB, 6 K) picked up the win for the Waves (29-27), while Max Gamboa pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save. Aidan Stinnett had a two-run homer in the seventh for the Toreros (33-22).

 

San Diego erased a 3-2 deficit with three in the top of the ninth to send home BYU. Dillon Robinson had three hits and two RBI for the Cougars (28-25).

Dan Deely went 4 for 4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI as Sacramento State eliminated Utah Valley (19-35).

 

Gunner Pollman went 2 for 3 with two RBI as Sacramento State (33-26) sent home North Dakota (24-27).
