Notes: The Seminoles will host an NCAA Regional for the 32nd time in program history. Florida State is among three schools hosting regionals this year that have hosted more than 20 times. Florida State captured their sixth ACC Championship in school history. The Seminoles allowed only seven earned runs in 36 ACC Tournament innings. Florida State topped 40 wins and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 38th straight year under legend Mike Martin. The Seminoles will make their 53rd NCAA tournament appearance. The Seminoles swept two ACC series in the regular season against Boston College and Pittsburgh. DJ Stewart leads FSU in nine categories including batting average (.318) Runs Scored (57), Hits (62), Runs batted in (52), and total bases (114). FSU is 27-7 at home, 24-6 in non-conference play, and 10-2 in one-run games on the season.

Notes: Outfielder Morgan Phillips missed the final game of the CAA Tournament with a bruised right hand and is questionable for the Regionals. … Right-hander Brandon Glazer played third base and right field upon his arrival to campus but was tried, because of injuries to others, on the mound this year. He developed into the team’s No. 2 starting pitcher. … Lost ace pitcher Bailey Ober to Tommy John surgery just before the start of the season. … New ace Taylor Clarke, who transferred in from Towson University when the school shut down its program in 2013, is a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist. He has also been named CAA Pitcher of the Year and has tied the conference record for victories in a single season with 13. … Outfielder Bradley Jones had a two-run triple in the 2013 Big League World Series Championship game to lead his South Carolina team to the title over Venezuela.

Thompson’s last start came on April 18 but he made a relief appearance in the final game of the regular season. … Infielder Kyler Deese’s mother, Tina, was the head softball coach at Auburn from 1997-2013 while outfielder J.J. Shaffer’s father, Jeff, is the current head diving coach for the Tigers. … The fathers of Sam Gilliken and Daniel Robert played football at Auburn. … Pitcher Cole Lipscomb was named second-team All-SEC by the league’s coaches.

Notes: Mercer is making its third trip to the NCAA Tournament, all of which have come in the past six years. In their first year in the Southern Conference, the Bears captured the regular-season and tourney title. Coach Craig Gibson played for the Bears and has guided them to 38.5 wins per season the past six years. Eric Nyquist, who tossed a shutout in the SoCon tourney title game, has gone 17-3 the past two years. Mercer turned over the bulk of its regulars from a 38-win team in 2014 with only three regulars (Devin Bonin, Nate Moorhouse and Charlie Madden) returning for 2015. Kyle Lewis had a breakout year and was named the SoCon Player of the Year – his 17 homers and .691 slugging percentage rank sixth in the nation. Twenty-four of the 31 players on the Mercer roster hail from Georgia.
