Preseason Coaches' All-AAC Team

 

UL is Unanimous Pick in American Athletic Conference

 

Following its trip to the 2013 College World Series, Louisville is the unanimous favorite in the 2014 American Athletic Conference preseason poll, in voting by the league’s head coaches and released by the conference office.

 

The Cardinals earned eight first-place votes and the maximum 64 points. Louisville set a program record with 51 wins a season ago in making its second trip to the College World Series in school history.

 

UCF, Connecticut and Houston tied for second, with the Cougars receiving the remaining first-place vote. USF was fifth, followed by Memphis, Rutgers, Cincinnati and Temple.

 

The inaugural season for the American commences on Feb. 14, with conference play beginning the weekend of March 21-23. The 2014 American championship will take place at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla., from May 21-25.
