2013 CollegeBaseballInsider.com Louisville Slugger

 Preseason All-American Team

 

RICHMOND, Va. – Oregon State outfielder Michael Conforto (right) and NC State lefty Carlos Rodon have been named Preseason Player and Pitcher of the Year and headline the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American Team.

 

Conforto batted .349 in 58 games a season ago as a freshman with 13 homers and 76 RBI, a program record. He posted a slugging percentage of .601 and on-base percentage of .438. Conforto was Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-America by CollegeBaseballInsider.com.

 

Rodon (right) had an equally-impressive rookie campaign, going 9-0 for the Wolfpack with a 1.57 ERA. He struck out 135 in 114.2 innings with 71 hits and 41 walks. Opponents hit just .176 against the lefty. Rodon was First Team All-America by CollegeBaseballInsider.com and was recognized as Pitcher and Freshman of the Year in the ACC.
