The Wolfpack (50-14) got on the board in the top of the first as Trea Turner walked, stole second and scored on a two-out single by Tarran Senay to make it 1-0.

NC State chased UNC starter Kent Emanuel in the third. Brett Austin had a one-out double and came in on a two-out base hit by Grant Clyde. Reliever Chris McCue walked Jake Armstrong before surrendering a single to Logan Ratledge (2 for 5) to bring in Adametz and make it 5-1.

Austin had a sacrifice fly in the eighth, while Armstrong and Ratledge drove in runs in the top of the ninth to extend the lead to 8-0.
