Old friends will be in opposite dugouts in Boca Raton as Cincinnati visits Florida Atlantic. UC head coach Brian Cleary (right) and FAU skipper John McCormack attended the same high school, Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton. McCormack graduated in 1985, while Cleary finished a year later in 1986. The Bearcats are making their fourth trip to visit the Owls, having gone 1-8 in the previous nine meetings.

Wright State is hosting a nine-team tournament this weekend at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. The event name has been changed to the Ron Fraser Classic, to honor the late head coach of the Miami Hurricanes. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Ron Fraser Wizard Fund for a bronze statue of Fraser to be located at Miami’s Mark Light Field.

Several ranked teams hit the road this weekend. No. 6 Stanford heads to Rice, No. 8 Oregon goes to Hawaii and No. 13 TCU travels to Ole Miss.

No. 20 San Diego will debut its new Fowler Park this weekend against San Diego State. All three games are sold out for the 3,000-seat venue. The first two games will be televised on Fox Sports San Diego.
