Kalenkosky leads Preseason All-Southland Team

Preseason All-American Casey Kalenkosky (right), a senior first baseman from Texas State, leads the Preseason All-Southland Conference Teams as voted by the league’s head coaches and released by the conference office.

Kalenkosky set a program record with 21 home runs in 2011 to rank sixth in Division I. He was First Team All-SLC and Most Outstanding Player in the Southland Tournament. Kalenkosky batted .327 with 17 doubles, 59 runs and 69 RBI.

Texas State had five players on the preseason first team and one on second team.

The 2012 campaign kicks off on Friday, Feb. 17, while conference play starts on March 9. The Southland Conference Tournament will be May 23-26 at the Bobcat Baseball Stadium in San Marcos, Texas.
