TCU places five on Preseason All-MWC Team

Six-time defending champion TCU led the way with five selections on the Preseason All- Mountain West Team in voting by the league’s head coaches and released by the conference office.

The quintet of honored Horned Frogs included senior outfielders Jason Coats and Brance Rivera, junior catcher Josh Elander, junior third baseman Jantzen Witte and sophomore pitcher Andrew Mitchell (right).

The 2012 season starts on Friday, Feb. 17, with all five teams in action. Conference play begins the weekend of March 16-18. Each team will play a home-and-home series with each conference opponent. The MWC Championship will be May 24-27 at Earl E. Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas.
