Creighton places four on preseason All-MVC team

Creighton had four players receive preseason all-conference honors in the Missouri Valley Conference in voting by the league’s head coaches and as released by the conference office.

There were seven of the eight MVC programs represented on the team of 15 players.

The Bluejays had junior starter Ty Blach, senior closer Kurt Spomer, senior utility player Anthony Bemboom and sophomore outfielder Mike Gerber recognized.

Indiana State had three juniors earn preseason all-conference honors: third baseman Koby Kraemer, catcher Jeremy Lucas and outfielder Robby Ort.

All eight MVC teams will be in action as the season kicks off on Feb. 17. Conference play commences two weeks later on March 23. The MVC Championship will be held May 22-26 at Hammons Field in Springfield, Mo., the home of Missouri State.
