Arkansas pitching has allowed one run on nine hits in its past two games (19 innings).

D.J. Baxendale made his 19th start, tying the school’s single season record. It is second in the nation this year.

Prior to the home run by Jimmy Rider (right) in the sixth, Arkansas pitchers had a streak of 20 straight scoreless innings.

The eight runs scored by the Razorbacks were the most in a game in this year’s NCAA Tournament by Arkansas. The Razorbacks had seven total runs in three Super Regional games at Baylor (28 innings).

Jake Wise homered in the second for Arkansas, his second of the season and first since Feb. 19 against Villanova. It was the first dinger for the Razorbacks since May 19 against Tennessee. Arkansas was the only CWS squad without a homer in the NCAA Tournament.

Arkansas is 35-4 when scoring first, including 6-0 in the NCAA tourney.

Kent State turned four double plays, one away from the CWS record. Arkansas had one twin-killing. Of the five DPs turned in the game, three were 1-6-3 double plays.
