Kansas to make Dominican Republic tour

The Kansas baseball team will visit the Dominican Republic in December for a five-game exhibition tour.

The Jayhawks will be in the Dominican Republic from Dec. 15-22. Kansas will play three games against the Kansas City Royals’ Dominican team and two contests against local amateur clubs.

KU will train at the Royals’ academy in Boca Chica. The Jayhawks will participate in multiple community service projects, including construction of a batting cage at a public field and visiting local orphanages. Kansas will offer free baseball skills clinics and will donate baseball equipment to local youth baseball organizations.

The Jayhawks will begin fall practice on Sept. 21.
