Anderson Resigns as Head Coach at Hofstra

Patrick Anderson has resigned for personal reasons as head coach at Hofstra.

Anderson led the Pride for three seasons, posting a record of 46-92-1. Hofstra went 15-32 this past season, including 12-18 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

John Russo, an assistant for the Pride for the past three seasons, has been named interim head coach. Russo has been recruiting coordinator, infield coach and third base coach for Hofstra.

A graduate of West Alabama, Russo was hitting coach for three years at his alma mater before coaching from 2001 to 2005 at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana.

Hofstra opens the 2012 campaign on Feb. 17 with a three-game series at Florida State.
