Super Regional Capsules & Schedules

NCAA Interactive Bracket

Super Regional Picks

The Super Regionals are here, and so far, we've done a pretty good job of making predictions. Sean has six of his Omaha eight remaining, missing on Oklahoma and Cal State Fullerton. Phil has five of his eight remaining, missing on Rice, Cal State Fullerton and Creighton.

We've asked Jon Mueller, head coach at Albany, to join the panel this week. Mueller wrote a journal for CBI a few years back, but more impressive is that seven of his Omaha teams remain. Mueller predicted California would reach Omaha. His lone miss was picking UCLA to reach the CWS.

Austin Super Regional

Sean - ASU has enough to give Texas fits, but the Longhorns slip past in three close games.

Phil - This should come down to Longhorn pitching vs. Sun Devil hitting. Texas in three.

Coach Mueller - Texas

Chapel Hill Super Regional

Sean - My pick of Fullerton over UNC can't happen; Stanford plays well, but the Tar Heels play a little better and win in three.

Phil - North Carolina looks for a return trip to Omaha. Tar Heels over Cardinal in three.

Coach Mueller - Stanford

Charlottesville Super Regional

Sean - Virginia was my pick to meet Vanderbilt in the CWS final. Sticking with the Cavaliers in two low-scoring affairs.

Phil - The Cavaliers hope to rectify their failure to reach Omaha a year ago. UVa in two.

Coach Mueller - Virginia

Columbia Super Regional

Sean - The Huskies showed great fight in winning in Clemson. I think they take a game and make the defending champs sweat in Game 3 before South Carolina advances.

Phil - Gamecocks look to repeat as national champs. South Carolina in three.

Coach Mueller - South Carolina

Gainesville Super Regional

Sean - The Bulldogs played three close games against Florida this year. Expect close games again, but the injured Gators get it done in two.

Phil - Gators continue to roll. Florida in two.

Coach Mueller - Florida

Nashville Super Regional

Sean - Really like this series for a lot of reasons. Vandy was my pick to win it all - but the Beavers will make them work, forcing a third game, before the Dores move on.

Phil - Vandy has better pitching and better hitting than OSU. Commodores in three for their first trip to Omaha.

Coach Mueller - Vanderbilt

Santa Clara Super Regional

Sean - Do we have to make a pick? Love Cal's pitching, and I love DBU's hitting. My slight lean is toward the Golden Bears in three.

Phil - Who would have thought we’d see Cal against Dallas Baptist? The pitching for the Golden Bears quiets the bats of the Patriots in three.

Coach Mueller - California

Tallahassee Super Regional

Sean - Toughest call for me. My original pick was A&M over FSU to reach Omaha and I'll stick with it in a back-and-forth, three-game battle.

Phil - The Aggie arms are a little better than the Seminole arms. Texas A&M in three.

Coach Mueller - Florida State
