Brentz,
Roberts earn top Sun Belt preseason honors
Junior outfielder Bryce Brentz of Middle
Tennessee was named the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Preseason
Player of the Year, in voting by the league’s head coaches and
released by the conference office.
Senior Kenneth Roberts of the Blue Raiders was
voted Preseason Pitcher of the Year.
Brentz was the 2009 Player
of the Year in the Sun Belt. He led the nation in hitting at
.465, slugging percentage at .930 and total bases with 214.
Brentz set school records with 107 hits, 28 home runs and 79
runs.
Roberts posted an 11-1 mark for Middle Tennessee
a season ago with a 3.04 ERA. He was the 2009 Sun Belt
Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
