Knight named CAA Preseason Player of the Year

 

James Madison junior infielder/pitcher Trevor Knight (left) was picked as the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Player of the Year in voting by the league’s head coaches and released by the conference office.

 

Knight hit .377 a season ago with 14 home runs and 55 RBI for the Dukes. He tallied 60 runs and had 15 steals in 18 attempts. Knight posted a 3-2 record with a 4.32 ERA in 13 pitching appearances.

 

Knight had four teammates join him on the Preseason All-CAA team: senior outfielders Matt Browning and Matt Townsend, junior shortstop David Herbek and junior relief pitcher Kevin Munson.
