UCLA will be seeking its first national championship in baseball. The Bruins are 3-1 in this year’s College World Series. UCLA was 0-4 in two previous trips to Omaha.

The last Pac-10 team to reach the championship series was Oregon State in 2007. The Beavers beat North Carolina to claim the title.

The last school from the state of California to reach the championship series was Fresno State in 2008. The Bulldogs beat Georgia to win the national crown.

Since 1982, no school has ever won Division I national championships in baseball and softball in the same season. UCLA won the softball title earlier this month.

The attendance of 10,907 was the smallest crowd at Rosenblatt Stadium since June 1, 1991, when 8,267 watched Wichita State and Long Beach State.

Trevor Bauer fanned 13 to raise his season total to 165, the highest number in the nation. He passed Asher Wojciechowski of The Citadel, who had 155.
