UTSA senior outfielder Michael Rockett, the 2008 Southland Conference Player of the Year, highlights the 2009 preseason all-conference team, released by the league office.

Rockett hit .360 a season ago with 89 hits and 68 RBI. He was a second-team All-American.

Texas State had five preseason all-conference selections, including three on first team. Paul Goldschmidt, first team at first base, was the 2008 Southland Hitter of the Year. The Bobcat led the conference with 17 home runs and was second with 69 RBI.
