Delaware Cancels Series at UNCW Due to Swine Flu

The threat of a swine flu outbreak at the University of Delaware has caused the cancellation of the Blue Hens’ three-game CAA series at UNC Wilmington.

A member of the Delaware baseball team was one of the initial four cases of suspected swine flu diagnosed on campus Tuesday. Six additional UD students were treated for flu-like symptoms on Wednesday.

The Blue Hens (8-7, 23-15) and Seahawks (8-7, 24-17) are tied for fourth in the CAA. Their series will not be rescheduled.

It is the second lost conference series for UNC Wilmington. The Seahawks had three games rained out earlier this season at Georgia State.
