Notes: Two years ago, Coastal grabbed a 1-seed at the Tempe Regional. This year, the Chanticleers get a chance to host as a 1-seed as Gary Gilmore’s group continues to impress. The Chants are two wins shy of the school mark of 50 (2005) and proved they could play with anyone, beating Virginia twice and Nebraska twice. Coastal lost only one series all year (Troy). Bobby Gagg was named the conference pitcher of the year after assuming a starting role, and David Sappelt was named the conference player of the year. Andy DeLaGarza was a combined 8-10 with an ERA over 4.25 the past two years before going 9-2 this year. Chris Raber hit one homer as a junior before blasting 17 this year as a senior.
