Staff Openings

 

 

Coaches and prospective coaches have asked us in the past to have a page to advertise staff openings. We will include full-time assistants, volunteer assistants, graduate assistants and directors of operations. We will include all levels of college baseball for these openings, whether Division I, II, or III, NAIA, junior college or community college. Please email announcements to staff@collegebaseballinsider.com and we will post as quickly as we can. Please include contact information and deadlines, when applicable.

 

Saugerties Stallions: Member of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) in Saugerties, New York, currently accepting applications to fill the position of pitching coach.  Summer stipend is $2,000, with housing and some meals included.  Primary role will be in all aspects of coaching the pitchers.  Ability to throw batting practice is a must. Candidate must possess at least one year of coaching college baseball.  Position will stay open until filled.  Please send a resume with at least three references to Field Manager Matt Burns at mburns@uakron.edu. Kokomo: Inviting applications for assistant coach and pitching coach for a new college summer baseball team out of Kokomo, Indiana, that is entering the Prospect League. The Prospect League is a college summer baseball league in the Midwest that stretches from as far west as Hannibal, Missouri, to as far east as Butler, Pennsylvania. The league plays a 60-game schedule that begins after Memorial Day and ends after the first week in August. Pay is between $3,000-$3,500 for the summer. Job responsibilities include assisting in the daily functions of a college summer baseball team. At least one year of college coaching experience required. Haysville Avaitors: Hitting Coach for Jayhawk League squad, $1,000 stipend, food & housing fully provided. Will manage the hitters on a daily basis and work with them to improve their skills. Will coach either 1st or 3rd base during the game. Ability to work with OFs is preferred. Fairleigh Dickinson University: a member of the Northeast Conference, has an opening for a volunteer coach position. The responsibilities of this position include handling the bullpen during games, throwing batting practice and organizational paperwork. College of New Jersey: Two positions

First Position: Currently accepting applications to fill the positions of volunteer assistant coach. This is a non-paid volunteer position. Primary role will be working with the infielders or outfielders base on qualifications. Navarro College: Assistant Baseball Coach/Instructor, seeking individuals who strive for service excellence, value, creativity, innovation, are looking for a joyful workplace, are respectful toward others, are team players, and have integrity. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in planning and organizing practices on a daily basis in the spring and fall.

Ensures that the recruitment of prospective athletes is carried out efficiently, in accordance with college, conference, and national regulations.

Complies with college expectations regarding decorum and serves as a role model for the student athlete.

Participates in college and community activities and, when appropriate, is involved in drug/alcohol education programs.

Participates in (based upon qualifications) the instructional program of the college by teaching 8 load hours. Instructional responsibilities will be defined by the chairperson of Kinesiology as well as by the Assistant Dean of Science and Kinesiology, both of whom work in concert with the Dean of Arts, Sciences, Humanities & Kinesiology. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to work with students that come from diverse backgrounds.

Must demonstrate good interpersonal relationship, communication, organizational, and recruiting skills.

Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the college internal organizational structure and the rules and regulations that pertain to students.

Ability to function independently and as a part of a team.

Ability to work under pressure and within tight time frames.

Skilled in motivating, coaching, influencing, and negotiating with others.

Good public speaking skills.

Ability to manage conflict and develop consensus.

Ability to maintain order and discipline.

Ability to pay attention to details.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

Bachelor’s degree.

Must be familiar with NJCAA, Region XIV, and Navarro College scholarship guidelines.

Must possess a valid Texas Drivers’ License.

Must be insurable by the College auto insurance policy.

Preferred

Master’s degree.

Preference will be given to individuals with previous baseball coaching experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.

SALARY: $25,000.00 annually plus benefits

    This individual will assist in all aspects of coaching including assisting with recruitment efforts, throwing batting practice and coaching the JV team. Admission to the Dordt College Master of Education program is required, which includes an undergraduate degree in education.
