Paul Panik is the new volunteer assistant coach at Butler. He will work with the catchers and hitters. Panik is a former starting catcher at Canisius, graduating in 2010 with a degree in marketing. He previously coached at Western Connecticut State. Panik’s younger brother, John, was a first round pick of the San Francisco Giants out of St. John’s in the 2011 MLB Draft.

Mat Batts, a junior pitcher at UNC Wilmington, is majoring in both English and Creative Writing. He recently posted his offseason analysis of the Atlanta Braves pitching rotation for 2013 on Tomahawk Take. click here to read analysis
