Lineup Card is a feature highlighting notes from around
college baseball.

Members of the baseball team were among the
representatives of the 15 varsity sports from Georgia Southern
to participate in the annual Bulloch County Relay for Life
festivities held on April 13 at Kiwanis Fairgrounds. Founded in
1986, the event is administered by the American Cancer Society
to raise funds and awareness for fighting cancer.
Bucknell
head coach Gene Depew (left) will be honored on Saturday, April
14, prior to a doubleheader with Lehigh at noon. Depew will
retire following the 2012 season after more than 40 years as a
coach at his alma mater, including the past 31 as head baseball
coach. A dinner will be held that evening.
Georgia has added a home game with Liberty on
Monday, April 16, at 3 p.m. at Foley Field. Admission will be
free and gates will open at 1 p.m.
Winthrop will hold a free Youth Baseball Clinic
on April 28 at The Winthrop Ballpark. The first 100 to sign up
receive a free t-shirt. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon
and is open to youth ages 7-13. The clinic is sponsored by
Founders Federal Credit Union.
Auburn will honor its 1976 College World Series
team on April 21 prior to the game against South Carolina. It
was the second Tiger squad to reach Omaha, posting a 37-15
record with an SEC Championship and NCAA South Regional title.
Pitchers Joe Beckwith and Terry Leach were drafted and spent
multiple years in the major leagues.
Junior right-hander Whit Mayberry of Virginia
will miss the remainder of the season due to an elbow injury. He
underwent Tommy John surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right
elbow on April 3. Mayberry was 2-0 with a 3.67 ERA in five
starts in 2012.
Seton Hall will retire the No. 44 jersey of Craig
Biggio, former Pirate and Houston Astro standout. The ceremony
will be held on April 7 at 11:30 a.m. prior to the noon start
against Notre Dame.
