LSU
will wear green on St. Patrick’s Day for its 6:30 p.m. home game
against Nicholls State at Alex Box Stadium. The Tigers will wear
green caps and helmets, as well as white jersey trimmed in
green. Mikie Mahtook (left) and Anthony Ranaudo are pictured in
the St. Patrick’s Day duds. Fans will be able to bid on the
uniforms during the Tiger Athletic Foundation auction this
summer.

ULM
will don limited edition green caps for its game against
Southern Miss at Warhawk Field on Wednesday, March 17, for St.
Patrick’s Day. The Warhawks and the Golden Eagles get going at
6:30 p.m.
Whit Merrifield of South Carolina set a school
record with a 26-game hit streak, surpassing the mark of 25 set
by Greg Keatley in 1976. Merrifield hit safely in the final 14
games of 2009 and the first 12 this season. The streak was
stopped this past Saturday.
VMI is 14-1, its best start in school history.
The Keydets are among the leaders in the nation with a .381
batting average, 35 home runs and a .675 slugging percentage.
VMI’s 10-game win streak to start the season was the program’s
longest win streak in more than 60 years.
