Hicks has two runs, two RBI as Florida defeats UCF

LSU downs Grambling State, South Carolina handles High Point

 

No. 3 Florida 10, No. 12 UCF 2

In Gainesville, Fla., Christian Hicks had two RBI and scored twice as Florida thumped UCF. The Gators (11-2) scored in five of the first six innings, including three in both the fourth and sixth. Harrison Bader homered and scored three, while Josh Tobias went 2 for 4 with two runs for UF. Dylan Moore and Eugene Vazquez both homered for the Knights (11-2).

 

No. 5 LSU 7, Grambling State 1

In Baton Rouge, La., Jared Foster went 2 for 4 with a homer and two runs as LSU topped Grambling State. After trailing 1-0 after one, the home Tigers (12-1) scored two in the second, sixth and seventh to take control. Alex Bregman went 3 for 4 with a double, a run and one RBI for LSU. Doug Norman (1-1, 4 IP, 5 H, R, 2 K) earned the victory. Larry Barraza went 2 for 4 with a double and one RBI for the visiting Tigers (2-9).

 

No. 9 South Carolina 11, High Point 3

In Columbia, S.C., Kyle Martin went 2 for 4 with a homer and four RBI as South Carolina handled High Point. The Gamecocks (9-3) scored multiple runs in each of the first three innings in building a 10-2 lead. Max Schrock drove in three, while Gene Cone drew three walks and scored three times for South Carolina. Dane McDermott knocked in a pair for the Panthers (2-8).

 

No. 17 Miami (Fla.) 7, FGCU 3

In Coral Gables, Fla., Zack Collins had a triple, a homer, two walks and two runs ad Miami defeated FGCU. The Hurricanes (9-4) scored twice in both the first and second innings. Colton Bottomly doubled and drove in a pair for the Eagles (5-8-1).

 

No. 19 North Carolina 6, VCU 5

Chapel Hill, N.C., Brian Miller came home from third on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth as North Carolina nipped VCU. The Rams (3-6) scored three in the top of the ninth to knot the score at 5. Korey Dunbar went 1 for 3 with two RBI, while Logan Warmoth scored twice for the Tar Heels (8-3). James Bunn doubled, scored twice and drove in a pair for VCU.
