There are 38 former Division I players among the 100 major leaguers listed on League Championship Series rosters, including former Coastal Carolina infielder Tommy La Stella (right) of the Chicago Cubs. It matched the total of last season. There were 34 in 2013, 40 in 2012, 38 in 2011 and 30 in 2010.

The Toronto Blue Jays lead the way with 12 former Division I players on their 25-man LCS roster. The Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets both have 10, followed by the Kansas City Royals with six.

There are 34 Division I schools which have at least one alum in the postseason. Four schools have two: Dallas Baptist (Ryan Goins of Toronto and Ben Zobrist of Kansas City), Long Beach State (Marco Estrada and Troy Tulowitzki of Toronto), San Diego State (Quintin Berry of Chicago and Addison Reed of New York) and Tennessee (R.A. Dickey of Toronto and Luke Hochevar of Kansas City).
